A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were preparing for further attacks.
